How to Clean Your Toilet

It’s probably the dirtiest thing that you clean on a regular basis. And it’s not just the… umm… obvious soils that make cleaning your toilet a tough job. Rust, hard water, lime scale, and other mineral deposits all contribute to the layers of stains that make your toilet bowl look less than sparkling clean. Luckily, we’ve got a solution to your toilet bowl woes.

  1. Start by putting on gloves and flushing your toilet. Then clean the toilet bowl with a toilet brush and toilet bowl cleaner. Brillo® SNO BOL® is perfect for the job because it was designed to cut through all types of toilet bowl stains while deodorizing with a fresh, clean scent.

  2. For extra tough stains, let the cleaner soak in for a few minutes while you move on to the outside of the toilet.

  3. Clean your toilet’s exterior with an all-purpose cleaning spray and a Brillo Estracell® Sponge. Start at the top of the tank and work your way down to the base of the toilet.

  4. If you come across any tough spots on the outside of the toilet, you can tackle them with a non-abrasive cleaning powder such as Brillo Cameo®.

  5. Give the inside of the toilet bowl one last scrub and a flush.

  6. Finally, clean your supplies. Rinse your toilet brush in clean toilet bowl water. Make sure it dries completely before putting it away to prevent bacteria growth. The Brillo Estracell Sponge can be rinsed in your sink. It rinses 99.9% clean, dries quickly, and is MORE SANITARY—it won’t support bacteria growth… naturally!*

Did you know? Black marks in your toilet bowl aren’t stains at all. Those are places where your porcelain has worn thin, exposing the steel base of the bowl.

* Independent test results demonstrate that bacteria will not feed and survive on the sponge fibers of Estracell sponge material naturally. The unique cell structure rinses cleaner and dries faster, eliminating the perfect breeding condition for bacterial and fungal growth. These qualities make Estracell more sanitary.
